WHY BOULDERING?

We love all forms of climbing, but bouldering holds a special place in our hearts. The community that forms around a shared climb is like no other, and community is at the heart of what we do. Whether you’re reaching the top of your 1st or 100th climb, you’ll find Rock Mill to be a supportive and encouraging environment to push your limits and make new friends.

What gear will I need?

To boulder, you’ll need chalk and climbing shoes, both of which you can rent for $4 from the front desk.

How tall is the wall?

How tall is the wall?

Our wall is 16 feet at its highest, but most routes do not go to the top. The wall is surrounded by 18″ padding designed specifically for bouldering.

Where can I get my own gear?

Our pro-shop is stocked with a variety of climbing shoes, chalk, and chalk bags. We also sell home training equipment, guidebooks, and some great Rock Mill swag.

What should I wear to climb?

What should I wear to climb?

Comfortable athletic clothes with easy range of motion is best. Leave rings/watches/bracelets at home as they can get in the way of climbing and even be a hazard.

What do you do when you get to the top?

What do you do when you get to the top?

At the top of a route, you can either climb down the wall using nearby downclimb holds, or you can jump down using the recommended form we describe in our orientation video.
